What is inventor?
|
Autodesk Inventor is a 3D CAD modeling software used to design, and test product ideas. Inventor lets you create prototypes that accurately simulate the weight, stress, friction, and much more of products and their components in a simulated 3D environment. Everything from basic mold designs to detailed mechanical engineering models can be created and tested using Inventor's integrated motion simulation and assembly stress analysis tools. Inventor is well known for its accurate 3D modeling features that help you create and visualize your products. Inventor also includes integrated CAD simulation and design communication tools that not only enhances CAD productivity and help to reduce errors but also can be integral in cutting development timelines in half. |
This was the first "Widget" I attempted ( Made on Inventor) . You start out by selecting "standard" and it opens up a fresh page in inventor. I found it easier (plus Mr. W (I'll learn to spell his name and re update this page later) said to try it this way, and as a beginner I think it's best to not question that judgement). So I made what looks like a "Z" using the line thing under the sketch option. Wow my descriptions are terrible. Anyways, after adding the lines I pushed "finish sketch" which then opens a whole new table of options including the "extrude" button. Once pushed it makes my three dimensional. I was indeed Successful.

Every day we work we have to update our designer notebooks, So I would update mine about everything that I have been working on and the progress I have made. We had to pick one of the widgets we designed and made on inventor to 3D print. So I decided to choose the one that looked like a character from space invaders. Once I had decided I needed to move the file onto the program "makerbot" this program is specific to using the 3D printers. Then Onto a USB drive it went. Then inserted into the printer. Push start and boom. There it went.
