Adobe Illustrator is a software used by both artists and anyone who wants to use it to create vector images. These images could be used for company logos, promotional uses or even personal work, both in print and digital form. You can use what you illustrate to print on the laser using color coordination. |
My laser assignmentusing Illustrator we all made our own individual key chains. I decided to go with a theme from the show "The Office". I outlined the shape of the key chain in red because that tells the laser to cut all the way through. Any other color is only an engrave. Once I finished my design (after many minutes of decision making, ask Mandy) I sent it to a USB then plugged it into the laser program. I then positioned my laser to be towards the edge of the plastic as to not waste any then sent it on its way. The result was a burnt plastic wonder.

As another project we learned how to do the Vinyl cut out machine that we can use to make decals to put onto almost anything. We also did this using adobe illustrator. We typed our name into a blank document and got to choose any font that we would like. Using the computer that's hooked up to the machine we sent it through and the machine cut out the letters on the vinyl which is like a type of plastic with a strong sticky end. Once it finishes cutting out the letters I cut it out using an exacto knife. Then placed it onto a surface and flattened it until it stuck. (using a sticky lamination paper stuff)
